Fundamental Gurdjieff: The Fourth Way in the Twenty First Century
("Fundamental Gurdjieff" replaces the 2024 text of "Basic Gurdjieff" which was published in August 2024. After discovering that there was indeed another "Basic Gurdjieff" on the market, we have changed the title so as not to encroach upon the former title and it's author.)
This is a short book which introduces the Gurdjieff traveler to the esoteric work of George Gurdjieff and Peter Ouspensky, his foremost student and writer of some of the most important information regarding The Fourth Way, which is the title given their system of knowledge. In this book we learn some of the very basics of this system and are introduced to some of the modern traps of pursuing Gurdjieff in a modern, internet-based reality where there are many Gurdjieff "Groups", but only a hand-full are actually legitimate. This book attempts to educate the reader with means to judge real Gurdjieff groups, as opposed to less-legitimate players in this very esoteric world.
This system of knowledge leads one to awakening. It is a no-nonsense approach to the essence behind many of histories art, writing, and religions. And, indeed if studied sincerely, for a long period of time, it will reveal much of the truth behind many of the mysteries man has sought after through-out time. It has been suggested that The Work is over 10,000 years old. It sounds fantastic, but this book (and it's bibliography in the back) can lead one to find out hidden truths about you, and the world you live in.
