Gene Kelly: Singing in the Rain!
Eugene "Gene" Curran Kelly, born on August 23rd, 1912, in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US was a dancer, actor of film, stage, & TV, singer, movie director, producer, screenwriter, comedian and choreographer. Gene was known for his energetic, athletic dancing style, his good looks, and the likable characters that he played on screen. Best known for his performances in pictures including On the Town (1949), An American in Paris (1951), Anchors Aweigh (1945)- for which he received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor-and Singin' in the Rain (1952), Kelly starred in musical films until they went out of fashion during the late '50s.
