Le Guin, Ursula K.: - Ursula Kroeber Le Guin's work includes 23 novels, 12 volumes of short stories, 11 volumes of poetry, 13 children's books, five essay collections, and four works of translation. She won 6 Nebula Awards, 7 Hugo Awards, and SFWA's Grand Master, as well as the PEN/Malamud and many other awards.In 2014 she was awarded the National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, and in 2016 joined the short list of authors to be published in their lifetimes by the Library of America.Her work is noted for its imagination, precision and elegance.
Valenzuela, Luisa: - Luisa Valenzuela has published almost forty books including novels such as You Have To Smile (1966), El Gato Efectiva (1972), Como En La Guerra (1977), La Máscara Sarda (2012), El Mañana (2020) and Prosecutor Dies (2021). She's also written essays, vols. of short stories, and microfiction, for which he has received numerous awards: the Machado de Assis Medal from the Brazilian Academy of Letters, the Guggenheim Scholarship, the Grand Prize of Honor from the Argentine Society of Writers (2017), & the Carlos Fuentes Award (2019).Most recently her work has included the reissue of her novel El Mañana, (Interzona Editorial, 2020), a new novel, Fiscal Muere, (Interzona Editorial, 2021), La Mirada Horizontal, selected journalism (Editorial Marea, 2021), and the autobiographical chronicle Los Tiempos Detenidos, (Editorial Marea, 2022). She lives in Buenos Aires.
Moody, Rick: - Rick Moody, novelist and short story writer, grew up in several Connecticut suburbs, where he later set stories and novels. He graduated from St. Paul's School in New Hampshire and Brown University, and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in 1986.His memoir The Black Veil (2002) won the NAMI/Ken Book Award & the PEN/Martha Albrand Award for the Art of the Memoir. He is best known for his novel The Ice Storm (1994), was the basis for Ang Lee's Oscar-nom. film.
