Ms. Wong was born and raised in Fresno, California. In 1981, she moved to Seattle, Washington and attended University of Washington, graduating with an engineering degree in 1987. She worked in public and private industry, and operated her own sole proprietorship as a designer. In 2003, Ms. Wong began reentry and retraining as an English and Special Education professional. From 2003 to 2007, she attended Fresno City College and California State University Fresno, earning honor society memberships. She presently works as an educator and attends graduate school in Washington, DC. She is also the author of Places: An Essay Collection and has contributed articles to various newsletters and magazines.
