Hampton Road: A Psychological Thriller for Young Adults

Michael Segedy

Readers Favorite Award Winning Novel!

"Michael Segedy gives valuable insight into the minds of two young men and how jealousy and fear can be a deadly combination." Reviewed by Audio Book Reviewer

"I don't know much about young adult fiction category, being long gone from that world, but someone gave me a copy of HAMPTON ROAD and I soon forgot about the genre.... Like any good novel, Hampton Road has its roots in real people, and these three kids are hard to forget. If I'd known about it, I'd have given this to my son." -Bjarne Rostaing, author of novelized version of the movie Phantom of the Paradise with Brian DePalma, Epstein's Pancake, and Breeders.

"Segedy's young adult thriller, Hampton Road, is suspenseful and compelling. The reader, in many ways, becomes Billy as he tries to piece together what happened to his life and why he's in an institution. I loved this book. It's amazingly good and highly recommended." Jack Magnus, Readers' Favorite

Hampton Road is a psychological thriller told from the perspective of three characters. Their overlapping narratives unravel a mystery that begins one fateful summer night and ends months later in a mental institution when a young man is forced to confront the source of his personal anguish. It is his sharp wit and flashes of humor that save him from despair. As time passes, his present life seems less and less real. Its center can no longer hold. Everything around him strikes him as surreal. The doctor, the hospital, the visits from his mother and girlfriend - even what he remembers of his own past - all seem to belong to someone else. He feels like an imposter, a phony, and a helpless prisoner. He distrusts the doctor and believes, more than wanting to help him, he wants something from him. And, that something has to do with Hampton Road.
