The Spanish word "flaco" ("skinny") comes from the Latin word "flaccus," which means "flabby." It was a family name, too; the poet Horace was Quintus Horatius Flaccus. At some point, the "hanging down" meaning overtook the "fleshy" one. https://t.co/DlcIncOIq5
