Dan Shrader has been involved in the business world for 36 years. Having been rejected by a number Universities that he had enrolled at in the mid 1970's he attended the only college that had accepted him. He had no money but was committed to one thing which was a career in business and a business degree to help get him there. He made it thru college working two jobs at all times and a student loan for $600 for he had no choice but to pay for college himself. Within six years of graduating he was on the Board of Trustees of that same college and one of the largest contributors to the building of the college's new library. From poverty to wealth in six years. He knew he needed more business knowledge and he decided it would come from Wall Street. He applied at six Wall Street firms and within a month had received a rejection letter from five of them. With just one left that he had previously interviewed with he drove to their offices that Friday. He let them know he had interviewed at six firms and had decided to work at their firm. He further let them know that they had to decide that very day to hire him or he would be at their competition the following Monday. They hired him on the spot. Within 24 months he was one of their largest investment professionals in the country. He had now gone from selling himself to being chased by investment firms around the country. He was recruited away by one of the largest investment banking firms in the country to build out an institutional department over a three period. Having achieved the entire plan in a 12 month period he quit. Now in his late 20's he acquired his first company. After another two years and having brought his first company public he acquired his second company and then a third a fourth and more. During his career he has founded and or acquired numerous companies, funded hundreds more personally, sat on numerous boards, hired, trained and motivated thousands of employees on all levels. Some of his companies worked and some did not. He has made, lost and made again fortunes. During his career he has fought competitors and regulators and at times been both admired and despised. Throughout this he has had the pleasure to meet some of the strongest people in business. He is now sought after as a consultant and speaker on the subjects of entrepreneurship, innovation, employee motivation and leadership. His admirers refer to him as, "The Fixer".
