John Steinbeck (1902-1968) is the author of such celebrated works as
Tortilla Flat (1935),
Of Mice and Men (1937), and
The Grapes of Wrath (1939), for which he won both the
National Book Award and the
Pulitzer Prize. He was awarded the
Nobel Prize in Literature in 1962.

Steinbeck's Typewriter, an award-winning book of critical essays.
