But those joyous childhood years are over. After Christmas, Laura would return to university, leaving Jen once again isolated and lonely. She knew she needed to build a future for herself and not be reliant on Laura filling her world. But it was so much easier to simply accept her life now, and be grateful for what she did have, good friends, her dog, and a home.
