Wilson, August: - August Wilson (1945-2005) is the most influential and successful African American playwright. A two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning author, his plays have been produced all over the world.

McClinton, Marion: - Marion McClinton (1954-2019) was an American theatre director, playwright, and actor. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was an integral part of the Penumbra Theatre Company. He directed all of August Wilson's plays, both on Broadway and regionally, and was termed one of the leading Wilson directors. His accolades include a Tony Award for King Hedley II, Vivian Robinson Audelco Black Theatre Awards for Director and Dramatic Production, an Obie Award for Direction for Jitney, and a Drama Desk Award nomination.
