Life, Death and the Things Between

Erin E. Breckenridge

Times in Sacramento were tough. Jobs were scarce and unemployment was on the rise. Dana had been out of work for months and was getting desperate. She took the first opportunity that came her way, cleaning for an ancient and intimidating old woman, Martha Rorex. She was thankful for the chance but every part of her screamed to get away, that something was very wrong. Even though she couldn't shake the feeling, she decided to stay. Life in the dilapidated old Victorian was strange and the old woman was stranger, but Dana fell into the daily routine of cleaning and bringing life and beauty back to the house one room at a time. The mansion held many secrets. There was a strange force inhabiting the Victorian, something between life and death that twisted and warped. Dana was sucked into the Victorian's depths. Frightened and confused, she was forced to stand against things she did not understand. Will Dana be victorious against the darkness within? Or will she crumble under its force?

About the Author

Erin Breckenridge lives in Sacramento, California with he husband, many cats and loyal dog. She grew up in a family of sculptors and painters but her medium lay elsewhere. Erin has always had a fondness for reading books, especially fantasy, science fiction and horror. At Sacramento City College her love of writing was kindled and fostered by her English professors. It was like a revelation. She knew what she wanted to do for a living. Telling stories is her passion and she hopes that her readers see that fervor in her prose.
