Janie Hughes is a registered nurse and a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner. She wants children to understand that what they think and say affects others and can be communicated through the power of touch. She has five daughters and seven grandchildren. She lives with her husband and three dogs in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Marcia Long is an artist with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and she is a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists, the Botanical Artists for Education and the Environment, and the Botanical Artists of the National Capital Region. Marcia lives in Williamsburg, Virginia, with her husband, Lawrence, and a white Himilayan cat, Mr. Tipperton.
