It is a term that can be translated as "thought." In Buddhism and Hinduism, a mantra is a sacred phrase, word, or syllable that is recited to support meditation or to invoke divinity. Although they cannot be translated exactly or precisely, each sound corresponds to an aspect of enlightenment and allows the mind to associate with one of these aspects.
