Meier, John P.: - Fr. John P. Meier, S.T.D., (1942-2022), was the W.K. Warren IV Professor of Theology at the University of Notre Dame, has written five books on the Gospel of Matthew and more than fifty journal articles. His books include The Mission of Christ and His Church: Studies in Christology and Ecclesiology (Glazier, Liturgical Press, 1990). The Vision of Matthew: Christ, Church, and Morality in the First Gospel (Crossroad, 1991), and A Marginal Jew: Rethinking the Historical Jesus (Doubleday.1991).
