Kirschenbaum's pieces have been shown in major origami exhibitions (including the American Museum of Natural History, The Smithsonian, Mingei International Museum, and Hangar-7), small and chic SoHo shows, and even a private exhibition at the prestigious National Arts Club. He also gives back to the origami community through his volunteer efforts at OrigamiUSA, a premiere international origami organization, in both capacities as a Director and Chair of the Publications Committee.
