Moondog: Once in a Blue Moon

Thomas Trock

In this sequel to Race for the Son, Joseph and Rocky descend from the mountains hoping to find a cure for Moondog. Joseph eagerly absorbs information as Rocky shares many insights from his years of living in the mountains. After a close call with a bull moose, they spend a stormy night in an old cabin filled with various critters.

When they reach the nearest veterinarian, he gives them little hope of finding a cure for Moondog.

During an uneasy meeting with the governor and other state officials, a startling calamity strikes in Rocky's home. Joseph and Moon are pressed to utilize all their tracking skills to find clues to prevent an impending disaster.

Together they discover evidence from their past which shakes Joseph to the core - as a miracle is in the making.

About the Author

Trock, Thomas: - "Thomas Trock is a career biologist with the Fish and Wildlife Service. For years he has enjoyed hiking where no other boot-print can be found - armed with backpack, fly rod, and one of the goofiest dogs on the planet. When not captivated by the solitude of the mountains, Thomas likes to visit nursing homes with Cosmos the Wonderdog, and serenade the residents with his acoustic guitar. Thomas has lived in Africa, and along with his beloved wife, has worked with some remarkable folks in several third-world countries. No one has ever accused him of being the sharpest tool in the shed. He considers himself just a simple man who has found a remarkable Truth. Some of his favorite movies are: Do You Believe? The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, The Chronicles of Narnia series, and Babe. Theodor Geisel is a favorite author, as Dr. Seuss is one of the few writers Thomas can understand. Usually. Well - sometimes anyway."

Praise for this book

I loved these books!! I bought all three and read them all within a couple of weeks. I could hardly put them down - could not wait to see what happened next. They are full of adventure, struggles, growth and some very deep truths. They made me laugh, made me cry and still make my heart smile just thinking about them. They were so beautifully written with such vivid descriptions that it was almost like being there experiencing the sights, the sounds and the smells myself. Such imagination! There are real life struggles, victories, losses the whole package. A beautiful story of love, commitment, faith, and the hope that Love brings. Hope there's a 4th one on the horizon somewhere: ) Linda R
