As the narrative moves back and forth across the twentieth century, what we know and understand about Jane--about the way she loves, thinks, feels, sees, and remembers--expands with every page. In Mothering Sunday, Swift has crafted an emotionally soaring and profoundly moving work of fiction.
"British authors specialise in novels in which hot, languid people spend hot, languid days in charming country piles: think of them as National Trust novels…This wonderful novella is a superb addition to the genre."

Our last meeting of the year for book club. We read Mothering Sunday by Graham Swift which the group liked. We disagreed about the ambiguity of Paul’s accident - was it suicide? Also discussed the walking around the house naked. #DiaryOfaLibrarian
