Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina, specifically in the close-knit community of Spillcorn, has instilled in me a deep appreciation for the region. The passion for cooking southern delicacies that I possess can be attributed to the invaluable teachings of my grandmothers and mother, who imparted the time-honored techniques of Appalachian cuisine.
