Mexico is the size of Westen Europe and home to over 130 million people. Like any big country with a long history and a large population, it is very diverse and heterogeneous, so everyone who knows it has, in some sense, their own Mexico. This book presents the changing Mexico of the English author over the 57 years he has lived there. Based in Mexico City and then Puebla in the centre of the country, he has worked in and visited places from the US border in the north to the Guatemala and Belize borders in the south and from the Gulf coast in the east to the Pacific coast in the west. My Mexico is dedicated to his Mexican family, his wife, his two daughters, and his Mexican grandson and granddaughter, aged 19 and 14 at the time of publication.
