About the Author

Staenberg, David: - David Staenberg is the executive director of The David Staenberg Family Foundation and the author of five books. He learned to read when he was thirty, after attending private schools across the country, serving in the US Army as a military police officer, and failing out of four universities and two community colleges. One of his professors at the third community college noticed that David was completing his assignments but never opened his textbook. He attended vocational rehab, where he was diagnosed with dyslexia and very low reading comprehension. His reading ability increased from second-grade level to seventh-grade level. After that, he completed three degrees in four years: an associate's degree, a bachelor's degree, and a master's degree. David is also a recovering alcoholic. He has served as a mental health counselor and a drug and alcohol counselor for a number of years. He has overcome numerous challenges in his life and serves to help others through his experience. His foundation supports youth with dyslexia who are attending college or university. It also works with local agencies to provide support and resources to veterans and the homeless, from counseling to meals and water.

Praise for this book

When we suffer from anxiety, the idea of waking up in the morning and feeling glad to be alive seems almost impossible. Anxiety is a devastating illness, both for those affected and for their loved ones, and the road to recovery can seem long and winding. This encouraging book provides insight into anxiety, and its author, David Staenberg, shares a compelling story.

A complete cure for anxiety might not always be possible. Yet David's writing illustrates the importance of identifying negative patterns of thought and behavior caused by anxiety. As we attempt to transform these patterns, we might discover that our faith and courage take on a new maturity. Recovering from anxiety may be a long road to travel for those trying to overcome this condition, but David provides valuable insight to everyone on its path.
