Sabrina Weiss

Dive into the Ocean and discover all the Secrets of the Deep! From clown fish to killer whales, and sunlit coral reefs to smoking deep-sea vents - welcome to our great global ocean.

Did you know that the ocean is home to the biggest animals in the world? Did you know that the ocean is deeper in some places than Mount Everest is tall? If your elementary school reader is asking questions about life under the sea, this is the place to look!

In this book you can dive underwater and discover menacing sharks, playful dolphins, clown fish, penguins, turtles, whales, shimmering jellyfish, a gargantuan giant squid and much much more! You can also find out about all the dangers to our ocean, including plastic pollution, climate change, and overfishing, and the ways you can help save our ocean and keep it healthy.

Ocean: Secrets of the Deep is jam-packed with over 200 stylish illustrations, infographics and surprising facts about the world's marine life. First, readers are taken on a journey from the water's surface to the deepest, darkest depths of the oceans. Then, information-packed pages about marine life follow, before a final section about how to protect our ocean. At the end of the book, an illustrated world map and glossary of sea-related terms provide additional supporting information.

"A dive into the ocean's wonders, from edge to abyss. De Amicis' painted illustrations give this wide-angled survey a strong visual draw, as sea life floats on every page in grand displays of exotic shapes, gracefully angled fins and spikes, tendrils and tentacles, intricate patterns of dots and stripes. Offers both a global view and art to pore over." --Kirkus Reviews
