From a mosquito infested airfield in Southeast Asia, to sleeping on a park bench in Manhattan, to sleeping at night on a bench in the Arab quarter at the port of Marseilles, waiting for the ferry to Corsica. At one point, with the band Dandy, playing at a political rally for French President, Jacques Chirac, to entertaining at a private party at the apartment of Christina Onassis in Paris. Being accosted by the Guardia Civil with automatic weapons on the beach in Northern Morocco. These were some of the events that were part of his life.
The meeting in Germany of his future life long companion, Christine, whom together with unyielding persistence, would build a life of accomplishments, despite the ups and downs they faced in the US and France.
When Covid finally invaded my body, and seriously depleted my health, I felt that I might be on the very precipice of life itself.
It became the catalyst for me to suddenly get my thoughts and the days gone by, in order. I began to jot down a few souvenirs and dates, and the past started to flow like a torrent of thoughts and images that I wanted to quickly put down on paper. Writing those memories of my life became an obsession, and I wrote as often and as long as possible.
What you have read is the direct result of these feverish days.
