Onyx Pearl

Amanda Halpin

Onyx Pearl lives a black-and-white life with her shades-of-gray dog Monochrome. But while playing fetch inside with Monochrome one day, something special happens.

Onyx lives in a black-and-white house, dresses in black-and-white clothes, and plays fetch inside in her black-and-white room with Monochrome as she normally does. Little does she know, today is no ordinary day.

While playing fetch, Onyx and Monochrome come across a beautiful red bird. The hue is so vibrant, Onyx can't help but to chase the bird! While she doesn't catch it in time, she sees a present it left her - a red feather.

Determined to find more treasures, Onyx takes Monochrome on an exciting hike into nature. There, she encounters vibrant colors and things, like bright orange flowers, comforting green and yellow leaves, and glistening gold seashells.

However, as Onyx and Monochrome enjoy their new treasures, a gust of wind sweeps through and blows them away one by one. At first crestfallen, Onyx soon sees the red feather that started her adventure and smiles. Accidents happen, and now her spirit's brighter than ever with the colorful gifts the world gave to her today.

Onyx Pearl is a beautiful, engaging story for children between the ages of 8 and 10. Filled with striking illustrations and vivid colors, the children's book promises to become a bedtime favorite.
