Orion and Other Stories of the Future

Peter T. Scott

This is a trilogy of science fiction stories set in the near future. It is a time of transition when fossil fuels are no longer supplied and when there are new advances in transport and education. The three stories are:

Orion - with air transport uncertain and limited to small aircraft. The Orion, an innovation based on a past concept, is ready to take to the sky but its potential is jeopardised by the threat of sabotage. Only head of security, Troy Jaeger knows for certain who is trying to destroy Project Orion. Can the saboteur be stopped before the Orion is destroyed?

Download - in the future, education has become fully computerised without the need for teachers. Students receive direct downloads of all of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required directly into their brainstem. A perfect system allowing for all to receive an identical education depending upon their age and ability. Nothing can go wrong. Or can it?

Steelwind - four yachtsmen find the giant, five masted cargo sailing ship apparently deserted in the vast Southern Ocean. Boarding her, they find the bodies of the Captain and First Officer on the Bridge. An attempt is also made on their lives. They sense that they are not alone on the huge windjammer.
