Remember Me: A Study of God's Message to Us in the Passover

Lori A. Sefton

Paul wrote to believers at the Corinthian church, "For Christ, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed." (1 Cor. 5:7). Through the death of Jesus Christ, the all-sufficient, final Passover sacrifice was made. He is our Passover Lamb. but what does that really mean? Jesus is the Lamb of God, but how is He our Passover Lamb? Isn't Passover for the Jews?

Remember Me is a Bible study which focuses on and uncovers deep meaning in the Passover of the Bible - both the physical Passover of the Jews in Egypt and the traditional feast given by God and celebrated annually for centuries by the Jewish people. By studying the messages God gave through the first Passover, we come to comprehend more fully the amazing sacrifice given for us through the blood of our Passover Lamb, Jesus Christ. By learning about God's instructions to the Israelites concerning the everlasting ordinance of the Passover meal, we come to understand how it is a foreshadowing of our church ordinance, Communion. It is the same story; only now the final chapter has been completed. And God wants us to know and understand. And then he wants us to ensure that we do not forget. Let's be sure we are listening as God whispers in our ears, "Remember Me".
