I bought this book for my friend's son (4 years old). He loved the book, writing his name and address in the front straight away. The fact the dogs are real and so is their story, led to discussions on adoption, how animals travel from other countries and being raised by a single parent, (which we weren't expecting). The story itself is very good and kept him engaged throughout. So brilliant I've just bought the second book in the series.

I love reading these books as much as my children enjoy listening to them, they are so heart warming and have great illustrations. Would definitely recommend.

I cannot recommend these books enough. The boos are extremely educational-not only teaching kids and adults about rescue dogs, but also there lots of useful messages as to how humans should demonstrate kindness to others. Love the pictures and the map too.

Wow! What a fabulous idea for a story. Very enjoyable.Teaching young children about the importance of patience, kindness and courage. My children, who love animals, absolutely love these books and we await the next one.

A lovely read, a heart warming story about kindness and our important role of looking after animals and the joy that can bring. My godsons (aged 4 and 6) both enjoyed the story. Perfect to be read as a bed time story for younger ones, or read independently as they get older. It's nice to see local references too. Have purchased the second book too!
