Philip C. Stead is an American. He lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, but travels constantly to New York City. He is the author of A Different Day for Mr. Amos, Lenny and Lucy, A Home for a Bird and others published by Ocean Crossing.
Matthew Cordell is an American illustrator, originally from South Carolina. His interest in drawing manifested itself in childhood. He studied painting, sculpture, engraving and design. He moved to Chicago, where he met his spouse and was able to devote himself fully to what he loves. He is the author of several picture albums, including First Grade Dropout and Like Pickle Juice on a Cookie.
