Sloathar the Sloth

Paul Toms

Written with an audience of children aged 3-7 in mind, Sloathar the Sloth highlights the importance of relationship building and empathy, and the way our choices can affect our friendships.

All profits from the sale of the book will be donated directly to Operation Smile, whose volunteers provide life-changing surgeries and comprehensive care to those both with cleft lip and cleft palate around the world.

Sloathar's smile is turned upside down.
"I'm a sloth and I just want to loaf," he grumbles.
Sloathar's friends notice that he isn't smiling. Can they help him turn his frown upside down?

"It brings me joy to know this book will bring happiness to those families who read it together, as well as helping to fund more new smiles for children with cleft conditions."
Kathy Magee, Co-Founder, President & CEO of Operation Smile

Author Paul Toms may be best known as an entrepreneur in the recruitment sector, but having been born with cleft lip and palate himself, he's been a passionate Ambassador for Operation Smile since 2020. Paul wanted to support the charity's vital work and challenge himself creatively, so, in his first foray as an author, he penned Sloathar the Sloth: a delightful children's story book.
