Smile Through It All is a non-fictional, chronological autobiography about my life. It is a story about life, finding love, survival, and remaining resilient despite the challenges ascribable to an abusive marriage, single parenthood, loneliness, Alopecia, and the possibility of Alzheimer. I've written this book in hopes that it inspires and empowers others who are experiencing these trials themselves. It is also my hope that you too are able to overcome the remanences, the stigma, and the judgment that comes with domestic violence and alopecia. I am a woman who got away. I am a woman that beat the odds and for this reason, I Smile Through It All.
"I have known author, Pamela Porter, most of my life, as she is my sister! The retelling of her hardships has yielded the AMAZING testament of her resilience. When many would have given up, she chose to keep going, which makes me Godly proud and encouraged to keep going--smiling the whole way through."-Mahalia Watson
"I have known Pam for over twelve years, she has been a kind thoughtful person, you would never have known the journey she has undergone unless she had chosen to tell you. Strong and determined to not be held hostage by her past she is living testimony of the ability to be free and grow from adversity. A TRUE success story and a beautiful person that truly has Smiled Through it All! " -Archer Casey
"My Aunt Pam is probably one of the strongest and most positive people in my life. Between bad situations and bad people she's always come out on top. Although she would claim to be a shy person, I believe her to be one of the most social and relatable people I've grown to know. Making her an extremely easy person to be able to talk to. I know that if I were to ever need anything I would be able to count on her to be present. I wish her nothing but the best from this life." - -Rainie Hernandez-Harmon
