"So Tender a Killer is Jim Thompson meets Anna Kavan for a sundae on Mars. Matthew Kinlin brilliantly creates a queasy, dreamy, nightmarish vision that's addictive. It reminds me of reading Muriel Spark-the dread but also the lingering details, a way of looking that is seductive and repellant and recognizable.
