About the Author

Alger, Barbara J.: - Barbara J Alger, daughter of Richard and Alice Hazaert from Glenmore Wisconsin, attended Denmark High School class of 75. Barbara is now married to Dale Alger and resides in New London Wisconsin. Before she officially retired Barbara worked as a receptionist at All Saints Catholic School in Denmark Wisconsin. And prior to that Barbara worked the majority of her adult life caring for the elderly, and individuals with special needs. Barbara's interest in helping others began during her volunteer work at Brown County Mental Health Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she taught portrait drawing to troubled youth, helping to boost their self-esteem and life skills. Barbara also taught portrait drawing and ceramics painting for many years at the Brown County Shelter Care, where she worked with troubled teens. Barbara credits her creativity to her father, Richard Hazaert, who was a talented writer, poet, and wood carver. Inspired by his example, Barbara began painting, crafting, and writing books and poetry many years ago. Two years ago, Barbara decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a children's book author. Drawing on her experiences working with young people, she is dedicated to creating books that inspire and delight children of all ages.
