Praise for this book

"Daniel Scott's stories lived for those occasions in which language morphs into something dangerous, taking on a life of its own. With wit, nerve and a disarming depth of feeling, Some of Us Have to Get Up in the Morning prowls through the imagination liked some dark, shining animal. A fierce debut." --- Paul Lisicky
"An accomplished debut collection by a writer who already has a firm grasp of his themes and who explores his fictional territory with impressive craft and authority."---Jaime Manrique
"Daniel Scott's writing is terrific. Only Annie Proulx is flatout tough liked this." --- Jonathan Williams
