Talking Music 2: More Blues Radio and Roots

Holger Petersen

Talking Music II is the next stage in the conversation as a follow up to Petersen's Talking Music (2011). TMII is a collection of twenty of Holger Petersen's in-depth radio interviews with artists -- the pioneering men and women who created the blues and roots sounds that have influenced the course of popular culture and music in North America. Many of his interview subjects are no longer with us -- their stories need to be told. Each interview is preceded by informative background material on the artist, Petersen's own stories of their meetings, and photographs. Praise for this book

I always look forward to any record or book Holger Petersen does because I know he's one of the few that really "gets it" and truly loves and respects blues like few others in this business. Holger has a lot of genuine heart, and it's always apparent in all his work. I'm glad to call him a friend. -CHARLIE MUSSELWHITE, Blues Hall of Fame member Holger is probably the best interviewer I've encountered in my thirty-plus-year career. The honest, intimate results made the first volume of Talking Music a real standout. -RICK ESTRIN, musician, songwriter, bandleader Music lovers rejoice! The book you've been waiting for is here! -WILL FERGUSON, Giller-winning author of 419 It's my pleasure to be here and talk to you. I appreciate everything you've been doing for so many years. -STEVE MILLER, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Record label owner and broadcaster Holger Petersen digs deep into the lives and careers of a wide range of cultural heroes in a further series of interviews conducted with the sympathy and understanding you would expect from a longtime champion of blues and roots music. -JOHN BROVEN, author of Rhythm and Blues in New Orleans, South to Louisiana, and Record Makers and Breakers A wonderful book that leaves you mesmerized and inspired- like good roots music. Holger's interviews not only tell about American roots music and America, they reveal a lot about the human condition. Highly recommended! -RICHARD WEIZE, Bear Family Records The big time is just around the corner! -RONNIE HAWKINS, rock and roll legend"
