The Adventures of Eddie Elf

Sonja McGiboney

Heartfelt and full of fun, The Adventures of Eddie Elf is a magical tale of courage, friendship, and learning that sometimes the best way to find your place in the world... is to reach out and help someone else.

Eddie doesn't look like the other elves and he's pretty sure they don't like him. He keeps to himself, avoids their games, and definitely doesn't want to play Ice-ball. One day, when the lunch bell rings and none of the other elves take the time to wait for him, Eddie makes a daring decision. He's going to break Santa's biggest rule. No elf is allowed to leave the North Pole.

Stuffing his pockets with cookies and sealing himself inside a toy box, Eddie hitches a ride on Santa's Christmas Toy Train... straight to New York City.

From joyrides through alleys on the back of a cat named Gary, to tea parties and a tour of New York taped to a taxi car's bumper, Eddie's world opens wider than he ever imagined. But there's one small problem. Whenever people look at him, he turns to mush. Literally.

About the Author

McGiboney, Sonja: - Sonja McGiboney lives in Gadsden, AL with her husband Dale and her dog Jazzy. In her Jazzy Books series, she combines beautiful photography with lyrical writing and rhyme to create engaging, concept books for young children. Her first chapter book, A Night in Lacey Manor, is about pinky promises, friendship, and facing your fears. The Adventures of Eddie Elf is her second chapter book. It's an adventure as well as a journey into learning about oneself. Sonja is a member of the Gadsden Writers Community, the Isle of Wight Writer's Group, the Chesapeake Bay Writers, SCBWI, 12 x 12 Challenge, The Alabama Writers Cooperative, and The National League of American Pen Women.
Harvell, Cyndi: - Cyndi Harvell is an author-illustrator based in Atlanta, Georgia. For 15 years, she wrote stories in the form of songs that were licensed for TV, film, and commercials for clients including Burt's Bees, Coca-Cola, Oakland A's, HBO, MTV, and FOX. Writing and illustrating for children's books has been a natural progression of that storytelling. She loves working digitally on her iPad, as illustrating from the couch is a pure dream, but she also loves working with watercolor, gouache, pencils, and pastels when time allows. When she's not working on children's books, Cyndi loves reading fantasy novels, going on bike rides with her husband and 2 kids, and figuring out ways to add zucchini to every meal she cooks.
