Introduction

The Adventures of Maggie & the Twins is a Jamaican storybook series meant to nurture accountability, integrity, respect, and kindness in children. Although the stories are written for the age group 9 - 12 years, the books may also be enjoyed by older ages. While entertaining and thought-provoking, the stories intertwine concepts of justice, fairness, and unity to enable readers to consider circumstances from the perspective of all characters, and to derive their own conclusions about the most appropriate actions and responses in each situation. This makes the stories excellent for discussion and learning. Since the stories take place in a Jamaican family, many of the ideas and the general plot is culture specific. However, the stories can be enjoyed by children and adults anywhere in the world.

As Maggie Brown and her twin sisters travel along the pages of these stories, with the help of their parents, friends, and peers, they learn the importance of kindness and honesty, how to respond to bullying, and what it means to be a person of integrity.
