About the Author

Scott, Jj: - "JJ Scott was born in Glasgow, Scotland before she was abruptly removed from the city at the tender age of 5 and taken to a small village for a 12-year stint, much to her chagrin. But JJ wasn't one to let a little thing like being stranded in the countryside get her down. She spent her days dreaming of her return to the city and plotted her escape by studying for an LLB at the University of Glasgow.JJ channelled her love for the city to finally bring her debut novel, The Making of Maggie Munroe, to life. Inspired by stories from her childhood when she and her brother would sit around the card table in Wilton Drive to play auld maid and listen to their gran weave stories of the past - including the revelation that she had been proposed to by four different men (talk about a plot twist!) - JJ poured her heart and soul into this deeply personal project. Despite being based firmly in Glasgow, much of the writing of 'Maggie' took place during the years JJ spent backpacking around the world. These travels have provided endless inspiration and introduced her to a diverse cast of characters, some of whom will rear their colourful heads as her literary journey continues.
