The Marisol Skiff

Gifford Jackson

Finalist:Benjamin Franklin Award -Cover Design-1-2 Color (2006)
2005 Book of the Year, Hobbies & Crafts, Silver Medal winner, from ForeWord magazine. What makes this landscape-formatted book unique is you are actually seeing each and every of the thirty-five pages (albeit in reduced size) of the plans which sell for $125. And, these plans are highly detailed, a tribute to Gifford's industrial design background. Gifford has added a bit of design commentary as well as information about sailing Marisol in his homewaters of Auckland, New Zealand. Measured metrically, she's a v-bottomed dagger-boarder built in glued-lapstrake plywood, with sawn frames. The boat is a 12'6 sailing skiff, that can handle rugged water.
