The Ministry of Prayer
Nothing is more essential for a congregation than the ministry of prayer. Jesus made this clear to His disciples when He said men should always pray and not faint. Luke 18:1 states, "1 And he spoke a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always pray and not to faint". Though prayer is for the entire body of Christ, God has specifically given the ministry of prayer to women. By nature, women are structured to travail and bring forth, Therefore, it is understandable why God has selected the women to bear the burden of the congregation through the spiritual womb of prayer. Jeremiah 9:17 divides the prayer ministry of women into three special divisions (cunning, mourning, and wailing). COGTB encourages corporate prayer because it unifies the body of Christ and allows us to bear the burden of each other when we pray. Philippians 4:6 states, "6 be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God".
