Desa has been accompanied by a haunting presence since birth.

Spirits guide her mind and body, providing crucial survival skills that saved her life following the loss of her beloved momma when she was barely old enough to fend for herself. But these entities levy a debt on her soul-the conjuring of spells to aid those around her and a wicked sexual appetite that quells their needs and her physical being.

Now, she faces another tragedy when her new makeshift town and unusual collection of friends disband after a war destroyed her small community in upstate New York. Desa is thrust into the freezing midwinter cold of Manhattan and forced to venture out on her own again.

The visitors within lead Desa to a mansion, introducing her to a hushed world where the appetite for arousal, sating of carnal desires, insistence on survival, and unknowing reliance and allegiance on the otherworldly mesh into one universe.
