The Secret Snow Globes

Karen A. Lenerville

Kris wanted nothing more than to travel. She wanted to see other places, meet new people, and experience adventures beyond her wildest dreams. Her Mom always told her that she never needed to travel beyond the city limits. She told Kris, that the stories her father had told her of his travels, were nothing more than impossible dreams from his incredible imagination. Nevertheless, Kris had hoped that maybe her birthday wish would make her dreams come true. This year, a gift of snow globes passed down from her Grandma, and the many generations before her, could quite possibly make her wish come true, and help her discover the real reason her Dad was missing from her life. Along with her brother, Jacob, they would venture into worlds like no other, meeting unusual people and strange creatures. Although it would satisfy their need for fun and adventure, they would also encounter those that would attempt to trade places with them in their world back home. Would Kris dare set off on an expedition to return her family to the life she once knew? Could the adventure end at any moment, trapping her forever? Would her brother, who did not want to be a hero, help in the challenges that would come their way? Together they knew they could face any danger; and hoped the summer vacation that started out quite boring, would have an incredible ending.

About the Author

Karen Lenerville has been a lifelong resident of Southern California. She grew up in a family where laughing and entertaining each other was a daily experience. She believes the humor and positive outlook from her childhood, provided her the imagination to write her stories. In October of 1984, she had her first short story published in a local paper, with two more short stories following. She has also written several skits for her church and enjoyed making up stories for her son, Jacob, to enjoy as he was growing up. In 2008, she decided to devote her leisure time to writing, and learning to illustrate her books. In her spare time, she travels with her husband, Gary, and enjoys spending time with her family.
