Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote . . . and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.
Devon Sawa is an actor.
My fave? —> The Shining (I think it’s his best and totally different enough from the movie) Also: The Long walk (for something shorter) 11/22/63 (for something much longer) Desperation (for something bonkers)

@Aim2GTC Yeah, they had to bring out the snowplows. (fyi, Estes Park is location of the Stanley Hotel, which inspired Stephen King's The Shining.)
Author of the Mike Bowditch novels including THE POACHER'S SON & DEAD MAN’S WAKE. Registered Maine Guide. @minotaurbooks
@FreshEggsDaily There are many wonderful adaptations! But not all of them please the authors of the books that inspired them. Stephen King famously disowned Stanley Kubrick’s version of The Shining.
