Trigger Guard: A Book on Anxiety

William Garner

For many people, living day to day with uncontrolled anxiety is normal. It can almost be construed as being encouraged by the '24hr' society we live in; it can be difficult to deliberately slow and order one's thoughts when the world around you seems to be constantly speeding up. This 'always-on' mentality takes a toll on all who subscribe to it. But, with this book, I intend on showing the reader their capacity for focus and execution even under constant pressure. Furthermore, the importance of pursuing fulfilling peace and not constantly subjecting oneself to the 'grind'.Mental health is something a lot of people become acquainted with through informal incidents rather than formal, structured, and safe teaching. This book is meant to be a useful guide for those experiencing chronic anxiety. As well as a guide for the myriad family members & friends of people who have chronic anxiety. Trigger Guard explains to the reader the prevalence of problematic anxiety and how it effects them biologically. Then, utilizing cognitive and behavioral science methods, the book guides the reader into carefully observing & altering their own thinking. In changing the conscious mind there is much to be gained within the brain overall. Ultimately, positively affecting behavior patterns and mental health requires addressing the conscious mind - which, in turn, shapes our brain - and this book aims to help people of all ages and backgrounds do just that: be conscious & present without being overwhelmed & triggered.
