@BillFindlay2 I also enjoyed “Undaunted Courage” (the story of Lewis and Clark for those who have not read it). Love Stephen Ambrose’s works (including D-Day, Citizen Soldiers and Band of Brothers). Great story teller.

Other historical books I read, but they don’t rank in the top 5: Undaunted Courage (Stephen Ambrose) Once There Was A War (John Steinbeck) What I Saw Of Shiloh (Ambrose Bierce) The Motorcycle Diaries (Che Guevara) Scenes From Italy’s War (George Trevelyan)

Free advice for all the media companies out there competing for great shows: do a Lewis & Clark expedition multi-year show. Base it on Stephen Ambrose’s “Undaunted Courage.” Don’t worry about cost. It will become the biggest show in America & you’ll print money. You’re welcome.
