Barbara Stewart (1959 - ) was born in Baltimore, MD.; she grew up in Pennsylvania, and the central east coast of Florida, and now resides in the Jacksonville, FL. area with her husband Gene and their cat, Kooky. She worked for many years in the electronics industry, and most recently in health-care. Barbara is a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, winning the Hope Award for volunteerism in 2009. Inspired by the style of some of her favorite authors: Adriana Trigiani, Nora Roberts, and writers who add home and heart and those who keep it 'steamy', her writing began in the middle of the night in 2003. Her ideas usually come from a song and she builds a story from there. She calls this 'the sound-track of her life'. Sprinkled through her stories are humor and sadness based on experiences shared with family and friends. Those who have read her stories, and know her, tell her they 'see and feel' her experiences with them in the words on the pages. Rock and Roll Never Forgets (Aug '12) is really her first work, 'her heart'. "It's the first one I wanted published, but I didn't know how to 'get there'. Participating in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo Nov '11) gave me the 'how-to' to become published, and in the year since I began with a blank page and Sweet Surrender (Feb '12) evolved, I have learned so much." "I hope you will continue my journey, travel with me, see what song inspires me next, and see more growth with each page you turn." Visit www.barbarastewartwrites.com for updates bsswrites@yahoo.com
