Will Heaven Wait?
A personal story filled with colored pictures that tell a story within themselves. It began with a wake up call, "It is cancer." The story takes you down a road to survival filled with unspeakable feelings, sprinkled with humor throughout the book. "Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would find myself in this place. If I had not listened to that little voice more quickly."It would have changed the direction of my life because it was very aggressive cancer.
In this story it stresses how important self-exam and regular mammograms are, and why you need both. The story takes you through the process of biopsy; a ride to the surgery room under the lights. The book travels the chemo route, and gives insight into how to deal with chemo. It takes you behind closed doors with radiation, and the preparation before. "I was positioned on a table under The Big Gun, and the technicians left the room closing the door behind them. The door was about a foot in thickness. The room filled with silence, and spread with a feeling of being completely alone. Then I heard the click counting the seconds..." The book tells a story, can it happen to me? Its about a friend who ended up with lymphedema. Now she has a huge arm that has no mobility (picture included). The book gives a description of how life can move on, bringing alive again our dreams, opening visions, fresh thoughts come into being, allowing music to stir the heart and time to cultivate a new garden of new beginning.
In conclusion, that wake up call "It is cancer" opened a whole new world. Not just to me, to family and to my friends. We walked down those foreign paths together. Yes, cancer can stir emotions of fear within us. Irealize passing through these doors has effected my attitude and spirit and how they, in turn, effects lives in a positive or negative way. "It all depends on me."This book is easy reading. It will be a special gift to those going through the experience, or who want to be support to those in the experience, "It is cancer."
