Mieke Goethals grew up in Kuurne, Belgium. As a child, she already drew, painted, crafted, and sewed an entire fantasy world. She studied both interior design and graphic design, and she ran her own design studio for years. A little later on, she also started making children's books, in which she combined her two biggest passions: drawing and interior design. In 2021, Mieke sadly passed away following a short illness. Yet she lives on in the many beautiful stories she has created.
