The 2024 L.A. Times Book Prize Science Fiction and Fantasy

These are the finalists for the 44th Los Angeles Times Book Prizes in the category of science fiction and fantasy. The awards honor the best works of writing produced in the previous publishing year across 13 categories. Finalists for the category include: a thrilling tale about a scuba diver swallowed by a whale and a Jim Crow-era story set in a schoolhouse of horrors. The winner will be announced on April 19 on the eve of the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books.
