This book has held the top spot as my all-time favorite since I discovered it during its 50th anniversary in 2016. Susann's sweeping saga of friendship, fame's dark side, addiction, and unwavering loyalty against the backdrop of show business from the 20s to the 60s is simply timeless. If you're as obsessed with Old Hollywood as I am, you absolutely need to read this.

This book powerfully illuminates the emotional weight and societal pressures faced by those who navigate the world with a dual identity.

Just shy of my absolute favorite, this book has me completely captivated. The exploration of fame versus love is masterfully done. It forces you to confront the question: what truly matters most?

This book, in my opinion, laid the groundwork for what we now call Sad Girl Lit. The main character's raw portrayal of major depression resonated with me deeply. I saw so much of my own experience reflected in her struggles.
