I picked this up for a bit of light reading and then it turned out to be the most incredible story. Reminded me of the time I read I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings without knowing anything about it and was blown away by how much PLOT there was in Maya Angelou’s early life.

The main thing I took from this book is that anxiety can be addictive. It can begin to feel like “the appropriate response to having unfinished tasks ahead”...But really you need to stop engaging with the ruminative nature of anxiety entirely.
