@DaltonDEmery i am a big fan of mary oliver, especially "a poetry handbook" where she explains how poetry is written. Stephen Fry's "an ode less travelled" is also good but it probably is overly hype about metrical poetry

@maybegray Sylvia plaths the bell jar read by Maggie Gyllenhaal is a good audiobook if you want to be romantic and melancholy. Also a big big fan of Mark Forsyth, elements of eloquence or a short history of drunkenness
